First regatta for the Eagles this spring

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University rowing team will head east to Cherry Hill, N.J., to compete in the Doc Hosea Invitational on the Cooper River, April 1. The Eagles' Second Varsity Eight boat will race at 7:50 a.m.
EMU will face a field of 16 other teams, including Colonial Athletic Association opponents Northeastern University and Villanova University. Additionally, the regatta will feature "Power Five" programs such as Clemson University, Rutgers University, and Syracuse University. Ivy League competitors Columbia University, Dartmouth College, and University of Pennsylvania will also participate.
Eastern Michigan last raced on the Cooper River at the 2022 CAA Championships, March 15, where the squad placed third with 26 points, the most in program history.
Last time out, the Eagles competed against the University of Alabama after a week-long spring break training trip in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Four Green and White boats, three Varsity Eights and one Varsity Four, raced against the Crimson Tide, March 4.
After this weekend's regatta, Eastern Michigan will remain out east to take on the Boston College Eagles in a dual race, April 8, on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.
