Tennis Keeps Rolling, Wins Third Consecutive Match With 4-3 Victory at Oakland

The Eagles have won three consecutive Division I matches for the first time since 2021
ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team picked up its third consecutive victory, this time with a 4-3 decision over Oakland University, today, March 12, in Rochester, Mich.
The win gives EMU (3-2, 0-0 MAC) three straight victories for the first time since the 2022 season, when the Eagles won four in a row between March 27-April 1.
Additionally, it marks EMU's first road victory of the season, and the first for the program since April 3, 2022, a 5-2 victory at the University of Dayton. EMU had previously played at Cleveland State University, Jan. 29, and Chicago State University, Feb. 10.
How it Happened
Eastern Michigan picked up all of its points in singles action today, winning at the No. 2-5 positions, respectively. Prerna Vichare (Mumbai, India-Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics) showed strong resilience at two singles. After dropping the first set, 3-6, she fought back to win the second, 6-4. Her best set of the day came in the deciding third, where she cruised to a 6-2 victory.
Daniella Shved (Holon, Isreal-ORT Holon) was equally as efficient at the No. 3 position. She relinquished just five total games on her way to a 6-2, 6-3 rout of Oakland's Yasmin Glazbrook, while Sabina Brichackova (Cheb, Czech Republic-Gymnázium Jana Blahoslava) faced off against former teammate Isabelle Popma at the No. 4 singles. In that battle of former teammate and now rivals, it was Brichackova who came out on top, winning 6-2, 6-4.
EMU's winning point was picked up by Linda Eloundou Nga (Yaounde, Cameroon-Augustine Meyou-New Mexico Military Institute), who rallied in a third-set tiebreak to close out her win, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (1-0) at the No. 5 spot.

» Brichackova tallied her fourth win of the season with her victory at the No. 4 singles position. After dropping 13 games in her first match of the season (two sets – 6.5 games per set), Jan. 29 at Cleveland State University, Brichackova has elevated her game immensely. In her last eight sets of play, she has surrendered just 24 total games (three games per set).
» Shved remains perfect on the season after picking up a win in the No. 3 spot. She is now 4-0 on the season, which is tied for the best mark on the team. Additionally, her four wins ties for the most victories on the team this season.
» Eastern improved its overall team record to 18-9 in singles this season after picking up four victories over the Golden Grizzlies. Overall, five different Eagles have earned multiple singles victories this season.
