Overall, seven points will be up for grabs.

The match started with doubles play, where the team of Wanyi Zhang (Bejing, China-Crnjanski Gimnzija - Serbia) and Daniella Shved (Holon, Israel-ORT Holon) were able to pick up a win over Chicago State's No. 3 pairing, 6-3. It was Eastern's sole win in the doubles slate. Eastern's pairing of Sabina Brichackova (Cheb, Czech Republic-Gymnázium Jana Blahoslava) and Andrea Quiroz (Lima, Peru-La Molina 1278-Alcorn State University) fell, 6-1, in their matchup, while Prerna Vichare (Mumbai, India-Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics) and Linda Eloundou Nga (Yaounde, Cameroon-Augustine Meyou-New Mexico Military Institute) picked up three games but ultimately fell, 6-3, in the No. 2 spot.
Eastern Michigan performed well on the singles side, where Vichare, playing in the No. 2 position, cruised to a straight-set victory over CSU's Katarina Dukic (6-3, 6-2). Meanwhile, Zhang earned a hard-fought victory at the No. 3 spot. After winning the first set, 6-3, she fought off Kristina Pukhaeva for a 7-5 victory in the second and a clean sweep.
