Freshman Arne Osojnik continued his red-hot start to his collegiate career, scoring 18 points against Georgia Southern, Nov. 11. Osojnik drilled a pair of three-pointers in the final two minutes to put the game out of reach in a 4-for-10 showing from deep. Osojnik's 18 points against GSU are the most by an Eagle freshman since current sophomore Orlando Lovejoy scored 18 points in his freshman debut, Nov. 7, 2022 against Wayne State University. The Slovenia native was 3-for-6 from three-point range in his collegiate debut, netting 13 points against Butler, Nov. 6. The freshman hit triples in back-to-back possessions in the first half to put EMU ahead 12-11 through seven and a half minutes of action. Osojnik's 13 points off the bench were the most by a reserve in the season opener since Chris James scored 14 points, Nov. 8, 2019 against Siena Heights University. The last freshman to score 13-plus off the bench was Ty Groce, who netted 15 points, Nov. 10, 2017 against Spring Arbor University.

Eastern Michigan has won 16-straight non-conference home openers with its last non-conference home-opening loss coming to Brown University, Nov. 9, 2007 in a 74-55 final. EMU has won 15-of-16 home openers as the Eagles dropped a 91-74 decision to the University of Toledo, Dec 4, 2020 in a COVID-19-effected season. Under head coach Stan Heath, EMU has secured home-opening wins against Georgia Southern (70-60), Nov. 11, 2023, Wayne State (75-66), Nov. 7, 2022, and Illinois State (103-98, 2 OT), Nov. 12, 2021.
40-23 HALFTIME LEAD OVER GA. SOUTHERN
Eastern Michigan held a 40-23 lead over Georgia Southern after 20 minutes of play, Nov. 11. The cushion proved to be valuable as the visitors cut Eastern's lead to 44-40 with 13 minutes to play before EMU was able to pull away. The 40-23 halftime margin was Eastern's largest halftime lead since the Eagles led, 55-28, at the break against Miami, Jan. 29, 2022.
YUSUF JIHAD, NINE POINTS X2
Junior Yusuf Jihad scored nine points in each of the first two games of the 2023-24 season. Jihad's impact on the game showed up outside of the points column in EMU's 70-60 win over Georgia Southern, Nov. 11, as EMU outscored GSU by 16 points when Jihad was on the floor. His +16 plus-minus was a game-high.
JULIUS ELLERBE IMPACT
Redshirt junior Julius Ellerbe has shown flashes of his athleticism in the first two games of the 2023-24 season, despite scoring one point in 47 minutes of action. Ellerbe has found success getting into the lane, dropping off a team-high seven assists, in addition to hauling in eight rebounds on the season. Ellerbe did not have a field goal attempt against Georgia Southern, Nov. 11, but posted three assists and six rebounds in 22 minutes.
TYSON ACUFF 9-9 FREE THROWS
Junior Tyson Acuff is 9-for-9 from the free throw line to start the 2023-24 season after going 2-for-2 at Butler, Nov. 6, and 7-for-7 against Georgia Southern, Nov. 11. Acuff's 7-for-7 performance from the free throw line marks the most free throws made without a miss by the junior in his career, topping his 5-for-5 performances at Bowling Green State University, Feb. 28, 2023, and at University of Rhode Island, Feb. 26, 2022, while he was at Duquesne.
TYSON ACUFF MILESTONES COMING SOON-ISH
Junior Tyson Acuff has a pair of milestones on the horizon as the transfer from Duquesne sits at 91 career three-point makes and 695 career points. Acuff netted 38 three-pointers and 239 points in his two seasons at Duquesne.

Eastern, which buried seven threes against Georgia Southern, Nov. 11, has now hit at least one triple in 584-straight games. EMU last failed to score from downtown Jan. 24, 2004, when Miami held the Eagles to 0-of-7 from behind the arc.
MT. MARTYNOV, SEVEN-FOOTER
Sophomore Cyril Martynov stands at seven feet tall and is one of five players in the MAC scaling at least seven feet, per each MAC school's official website. Miami's Reece Potter is the tallest in the conference at 7'1 while Bowling Green's Jason Spurgin, Central Michigan's Hunter Harding, and Western Michigan's Javonte Brown are all 7-foot.
DUSTY MAY'S EASTERN MICHIGAN CONNECTION
Florida Atlantic Head Coach Dusty May found his first assistant coaching gig at Eastern Michigan as he was apart of the Eagles' staff for the 2005-06 season under Head Coach Charles Ramsey. The Eagles finished 7-21 in 2005-06.

Eastern Michigan is 3-48 against AP-ranked teams as an NCAA Division I program. The Eagles are 0-25 all-time against teams in the AP Top 10. PRESEASON SECOND-TEAM ALL-MAC
Junior Tyson Acuff was named Preseason Second-Team All-MAC, Nov. 1. Acuff started 30-of-31 games in 2022-23, averaging 14.3 points per game to go with 2.7 rebounds per game, and a team-leading 2.8 assists per game. His 81.3 free throw percentage ranked eighth in the MAC. Acuff also led EMU with 1.3 steals per game. His season was highlighted by a 36-point output against Toledo, Feb. 11, which was the third-highest point total by a MAC player in the 2022-23 season.

The Eagles are scheduled to play five double-headers with the EMU women's basketball team in 2023-24 with four of the five double-headers taking place in Ypsilanti. Both the EMU men's and women's teams will play Nov.18 (men vs. Cleveland State, women vs. SIUE), Jan. 6 (men vs. Kent State, women vs. Toledo), Jan. 20 (at Ohio), Jan. 27 (men vs. Buffalo, women vs. Ball State), Feb. 17 (men vs. Bowling Green, women vs. Northern Illinois). The EMU men also hosted a doubleheader with the EMU's volleyball team, Nov. 11. Men's basketball beat Georgia Southern, 70-60, while volleyball beat Kent State in straight sets.
EMONI BATES NBA + G-LEAGUE
Former Eagle Emoni Bates played his first significant minutes in the NBA, Oct. 31, for the Cleveland Cavaliers against the New York Knicks as the rookie netted nine points with six rebounds in 23 minutes. Bates later sent shockwaves through the G-League in his first game with the Cleveland Charge, scoring 29 points with seven made three-pointers, Nov. 10, in Cleveland's 119-106 win over the Wisconsin Herd.
