Eagles battle 41-minute rain delay
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – After a 41-minute rain delay, the Eastern Michigan University soccer team dropped a 2-0 result Thursday, Oct. 5 against Northern Illinois University at Scicluna Field.
How It Happened
After exactly five minutes of rain-soaked action, the match entered a 41-minute rain delay.
The teams combined for a mere three shots on-target in the restarted first half, but NIU got on the board with a 26th-minute goal.
Northern Illinois added a second goal in the 60th minute in a second half that featured nine shots and nine corner kicks as NIU doubled up EMU in both categories in the half at 6-3 apiece.
NIU held a 12-4 advantage in shots and a 10-5 mark in corner kicks.

» Eastern moved to 1-6-6 overall (1-2-2 MAC) on the year while Northern Illinois moved to 4-5-3 overall (2-2-1 MAC).
» Redshirt freshman Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford), who entered the match with a MAC-leading 38 saves, made six saves.
