Przybylo matches career high with eight saves
ATHENS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team dropped a 1-0 result at Ohio University Sunday, Oct. 22, at Chessa Field in their final road match of the 2023 season.
How It Happened
An early chance for the Eagles came in the 5th minute off a corner kick but freshman Olivia Sipsock's (Medina, Ohio/Medina) left-footed shot from 10 yards out sailed just over the crossbar.
The Eagles fended off three corners in the final 40 seconds of the first half to keep the match scoreless through the opening 45 minutes.
EMU nearly got on the board to open the second half but a shot from eight yards out by junior Meagan Lukowski (Bay City, Mich./Bay City) was saved off the line by an Ohio defender in the 47th minute.
Ohio scored in the 53rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
A last-ditch effort in the 89th minute from junior Sam Lenaghan (Toronto, Ontario/Havergal College) was stopped by the Ohio keeper.
The Bobcats held a 30-11 advantage in shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

» Eastern moved to 1-11-6 (1-7-2 MAC) on the year while Ohio moved to 5-7-5 (3-4-3 MAC).
» Senior Rebecca Przybylo (Canton, Mich./Plymouth) needed just 45 minutes to match her career high with eight saves as she played the second half of the match.
» Lenaghan, freshman Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich./Lamphere), and junior Sophia D'Ambra (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) were the three Eagles that played all 90 minutes.
» Lukowski had a team-high four shots and a team-high two shots on-goal.

» Eastern now trails in the all-time series with Ohio, 13-14-4.
