YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team (1-9-6 overall, 1-5-2 Mid-American Conference), will look to get back on track as the Eagles are scheduled to host the University of Akron (2-12-2 overall, 0-7-1 MAC) Thursday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m. prior to traveling to Ohio University (4-6-5 overall, 2-3-3 MAC) for a 1 p.m. match Sunday, Oct. 22.

ON THE AIR: The match at Ohio will be streamed on ESPN+ while live stats will be available for both matches at emueagles.com/livestats.

QUICK KICKS:
»    The Eagles enter the week with an 1-9-6 record after 3-0 losses against the University of Toledo (Oct. 19) and Western Michigan University (Oct. 22).
»    Senior Rebecca Przybylo made a career-high eight saves in the loss against WMU.
»     Eastern Michigan is now 249-243-70 all-time and stands 143-114-34 in MAC play. With one more victory, the Eagles will record the 250th win in program history.
»     Head Coach Scott Hall is currently in his 25th season at the helm of the program and holds an all-time record of 210-212-67 (132-110-32 MAC) during his time in Ypsilanti.
»    Scott Hall is in elite company as the Eagles' gaffer is one of just 44 active head coaches embarking on their 25th or higher season with an NCAA Division I women's program in 2023, and one of only 13 of which has done so at the same school. Hall is the sixth head coach of any sport in EMU history to guide the same program for 25 or more years.

ONE MORE: Eastern sports an all-time record of 249-243-70, leaving the Eagles just one win shy of reaching the 250 victory milestone. The last time the Eagles recorded a milestone victory came Sept. 21, 2018, when their 2-0 home win over Kent State University marked the 225th program win.

ALUMNI WEEKEND: The program held its annual Alumni Weekend, Oct. 14-15. Alumni of the program watched the current Eagles train before the football team topped Kent State later in the day Saturday, Oct. 14. Then, Sunday, Oct. 15, the soccer alumni were recognized at halftime of the match against rival Western Michigan at Scicluna Field.

FRESHMEN TAKEOVER: Through 16 matches, freshmen Kate Robinson and Olivia Sipsock have made a name for themselves as the duo have combined for 22 points. Robinson has a trio of goals and six assists, highlighted by a two-assist outing at Purdue Fort Wayne, Sept. 7. Sipsock has four goals and two assists, highlighted by her 88th-minute goal against Buffalo, Oct. 1, a match in which she also tallied an assist.

MAC ASSISTS LEADER: Freshman Kate Robinson leads the MAC with six assists, the most since Nicole Remedios tallied six in 2019. If Robinson reaches seven assists, she would be the first Eagle since 2013 to post seven-plus assists in a season as Angela Vultaggio (8), Stephanie Clarke (7), and Martha Stevens (7) did in the 2013 season.

SCOUTING AKRON: Akron enters Thursday's match with a 2-12-1 overall mark and a 0-7-1 clip in MAC play. The Zips are coming off a 0-0 draw against Central Michigan University, Oct. 15. The Zips had previously lost seven-consecutive matches. Akron owns a 1-0 win over Niagara, Sept. 14, and a 3-1 win over Cleveland State, Aug. 18. The Zips have not won a road match in the MAC since Oct. 9, 2022 (3-1 at Northern Illinois University). Emma King has a team-high three goals while three other Zips have two goals apiece on a roster that has four goal scorers in 2023.

IN THE SERIES WITH THE ZIPS: The Eagles lead by a 14-5-2 margin in the all-time series with the Zips. The Eagles are seeking their first win over the Zips in Ypsilanti since Oct. 1, 2017 (lost most recent match-up in Ypsilanti Oct. 24, 2019). EMU holds a 7-1-1 advantage over Akron in Ypsilanti all-time. Eastern won the most recent match-up between the teams by a 3-2 margin, Sept. 29, 2022.

SCOUTING OHIO: Ohio enters the week at 4-6-5 overall and a 2-3-3 clip in MAC play. The Bobcats have three-straight draws. In the team's four victories, Ohio has conceded just one goal. Shae Robinson has half of the Bobcats' goals on the season, netting seven. Scout Murray has a trio of goals while three other Bobcats have also scored in 2023. Celeste Sloma is the lone goalkeeper that has played this season, allowing 16 goals in 14 matches.

IN THE SERIES WITH THE BOBCATS: The all-time series between Eastern and Bobcats is even at 13-13-4. The Bobcats have come up victorious in five of the last six matches, but the Eagles won six-straight matches prior to that span. EMU is seeking its first win in Athens since Oct. 16, 2015 (lost three-straight in Athens). The Eagles are 4-9-1 in Athens all-time. Eastern dropped the most recent match-up between the teams by a 3-2 margin, Oct. 2, 2022.

LOOKING BACK - AT TOLEDO (L, 0-3 OCT. 12)
»    Toledo scored twice in the first 10 minutes to take a commanding early lead before adding a third goal in the 85th minute.

Przybylo reset that mark against Western Michigan, Oct. 15, with eight saves. She recorded her third start of the season and first start since Sept. 11.

NEWCOMER POINTS: Through 16 matches, EMU has accumulated 47 points, including 15 goals and nine assists. Of those 47 points, more than half have come from rookies with Kate Robinson collecting 12 points (three goals, six assists) and Olivia Sipsock with 10 points (four goals, two assists).

MITTEN MATCHES: The meeting with Western Michigan was the final of four matches the Eagles will play against fellow Michigan programs in 2023.
