FORT MYERS, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving program fell to Florida Gulf Coast University, 162-124, Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5, inside the FGCU Aquatics Center.
How It Happened
Eastern won six events in the dual meet in Florida. Senior Carlin Hudson (Chattanooga, Tenn.-Chattanooga School for the Arts & Science) won the 100-yard freestyle for the Eagles with a mark of 53.34 and took the top spot in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:36.86.
Freshman Alexandra Kudo (Guelph, Ontario-John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute) won two of the freestyle events, finishing first in the 200-yard free (1:54.18) and the 500-yard free (5:05.70).
Sophomore Ashley George (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha South) won the 1,000-yard relay with a time of 10:56.05.

The Eagles will host a quad meet Saturday, Jan. 14, when EMU welcomes the University of Indianapolis, Grand Valley State University and the University of Findlay. The first event is set for 5:30 p.m. at Saline High School in Saline, Mich.
