Swim & Dive Concludes Day One at MAC Championships

EMU returns to Cooper Pool tomorrow, Feb. 24, with the first event set to begin at 10:30 a.m.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team completed day one at the Mid-American Conference Championships, participating in two relay events.

How It Happened
The Eagles placed sixth in the 200 medley relay with a mark of 1:40.74. That time is a season-best for the relay team consisting of Lainie Bell (Atlanta, Ga.-Druid Hills (Northern Arizona)), Riley Hofmann (Ada, Mich.-Forest Hills Central), Ali Staver (Bettendorf, Iowa-Pleasant Valley), and Kiersten Russell (Clinton, Mich.-Saline).

EMU also took fifth in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:20.68. That mark is also a season-best for the Green and White, consisting of Carlin Hudson (Chattanooga, Tenn.-Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences), Kelsey Andrusak (Victoria, British Columbia-Claremont Secondary (Grand Canyon)), Russel, and Lucie Fioux (Clermont-Ferrand, France-Godefroy de Bouillon).
