Crossen and Parris claim first and second in all-around, respectively

IOWA CITY, Iowa (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University gymnastics fell to the University of Iowa inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena today, Jan. 8, 195.950-194.100.
"So proud of this team," said Head Coach Katie Minasola. "We were faced with adversity and they stepped up to the plate today. We really rallied together and fought to the end. It was a great starting point and we can't wait to build on it."
How It Happened
Eastern started on bars and was led by sophomore Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.-Briarwood Christian), who scored a 9.850 and tied for first. This was the first time McCullough had competed on bars for score, as the Eagles totaled 48.525. On vault, EMU scored 48.050 as sophomore Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) and freshman Alana Fisher (Athens, Ala.-Alabama Connections Academy) both earned 9.650 to top the lineup, which tied for seventh.
Moving to floor, senior anchor Kara Roberts (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney) was given a 9.775 to lead the Green and White in the event. Roberts' score was good to tie for fifth. Closing out the competition, senior Caitlin Satler (Orland Park, Ill-Carl Sandburg) and junior Hadyn Crossen (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) both scored 9.800 on beam, tying for third, as Eastern finished with a team total of 194.100.
The Eagles did go 1, 2, in the all-around competition as Crossen topped the meet with a cumulative 38.850, and Parris followed closely with a 38.625.
