Gymnastics Picked to Finish Third in MAC Preseason Poll

The Eagles collected 35 points and one first place championship vote in the coaches poll
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team was selected to finish third in the Mid-American Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced today, Jan. 7.
Voting in the conference poll was again tight this year, with the top three spots being decided by a difference of three points. Ball State was selected to be the regular season champions, collecting 38 points, while Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan followed closely behind with 36 and 35 points, respectively. Northern Illinois came in fourth with 28 points, and Kent State totaled 26 points to land fifth. Closing out the voting, Western Michigan is sixth (22), and Bowling Green is seventh (11).
The Cardinals were also picked as favorites to win the MAC Championship in March, with three votes, while the Chippewas, Eagles, Golden Flashes, and Huskies all recieved one vote.
Eastern will have a chance to repeat as conference champions when it hosts the league showdown at the George Gervin GameAbove Center, March 19.
