Volleyball Places Five on Academic All-MAC Team

A total of 90 players league-wide collected the honor
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Five Eastern Michigan University volleyball student-athletes have been named to the 2021 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league office announced today, Jan. 12. Krista Blakely (Detroit, Mich.-University High School Academy), Raeven Chase (Toronto, Ontario-Michael Power St. Joseph Catholic), Bella Hommes (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Forest Hills Northern), Kamryn Stilwell (Parma, Ohio-Padua Franciscan), and Jayden Otto (Crystal Lake, Ill.-Prairie Ridge) were among the 90 student-athletes to receive the honor.
The Academic All-MAC Team honors student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Chase grabbed the distinction for the third straight season, while Blakely, Otto, and Stilwell each collected the honor for the second time.
Bowling Green led the way with 10 student-athletes on this year's team. Central Michigan, Kent State and Toledo followed and each had nine honorees.
