Kick Time Set For Sept. 25 EMU-Texas State Football Game

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan-Texas State football game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25, will kickoff at 2 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN+, the Mid-American Conference announced today, Sept. 13. WEMU (89.1 FM) will provide audio coverage of the game at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti.
It will be the first-ever meeting against the Bobcats, however, EMU is 5-7-1 all-time versus the Sun Belt Conference.
The game will also be part of Hall of Fame/Youth Sports/Family Weekend with Carl "CJ" Johnson (Men's Track and Field), Jason Jones (Football), Amanda Kulikowski (Soccer), Carl E. Thomas (Men's Basketball), Charles E. Thomas II (Men's Basketball), and LaTonya M. Watson (Women's Basketball) all being enshrined. This year's class will mark the 45th anniversary of the E-Club Athletic Hall of Fame with a ceremony Friday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. The Class of 2021 will then be recognized during halftime of the football game.
Children can take part in the "Youth Olympics" on the lawn in front of Gate 2 and show off their athletic abilities at five activity stations. Activities will include Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, Timed Football Target Toss, An Obstacle Speed Course, and a Pool Noodle Javelin Throw. The top boy and girl competitors in each event will receive a Block E medal for their age group. The three age groups will be 5-and-under, 6-9, and 10-12 years old. Following the game, all children 12-and-younger can come on the field, accompanied by a parent, to catch a touchdown in the South Endzone as a part of the "Parent-Child Touchdown Toss"
Texas State heads into this weekend's game against Incarnate Word with a 1-1 record. The Bobcats opened the season with a nine-point defeat to Baylor, before knocking off Florida International, 23-17, in overtime over the weekend.
