YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer program is set to host Detroit Mercy on Thursday, Aug. 12, for an exhibition bout with the Titans. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Scicluna Field.

Fans are welcome at Scicluna Field this season. Eastern Michigan Athletics asks all fans and spectators to review the university's current COVID-19 protocols.
 
SERIES HISTORY: EMU leads the all-time series against Detroit Mercy by a record of 10-9-4.

LAST MEETING: The Eagles defeated the Titans by a score of 1-0 on Aug. 25, 2019 in Detroit. Former Eagle Marla Cobetto gave the Green and White the game-winning goal in the 54th minute as EMU completed the shutout victory.

LAST TIME IN YPSILANTI: The last time the two teams played at Scicluna Field, EMU defeated Detroit by a score of 2-1 on Aug. 25, 2018. Then-sophomore Madeline Olson (Liberyville, Ill.-Libertyville) and former Eagle Kristin Nason gave EMU the two scores they needed to earn the victory in Ypsi.

ON THE HORIZON: The Eagles will use Thursday's friendly as an opportunity to gear up for the 2021 season, which begins Aug. 19, hosting Illinois State at Scicluna Field.

A LOOK AT EMU: Eastern Michigan returns 16 letterwinners to the team's 2021 roster. The Eagles finished the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 6-3, which tied for second in the MAC West Division.
    Sophomore Amanda Cripps (Bradford, Ontario-Trinity Catholic) was named to the All-MAC First Team last season, while freshman Lexy Alston (Amherst, Ohio-Marion L. Steele) was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team. The program also tabbed 12 student-athletes to the Academic All-MAC Team in 2020-21.
