YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week.

EMU senior golfer Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) posted a pair of top-15 showings this week to help pace the team at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate, March 28-30, and the Hoosier Collegiate Invite, April 2-4, 2021.
Collins finished tied for seventh at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate with an even-par 216 (69-74-73) for his first top-10 showing of the season. The Caledon, Ontario native notched six birdies during the final round, including posting a two-under 34 on the back nine. Additionally, the three-day tally tied a season-low for Collins he previously set at the GCU Invitational, March 15-16. For his efforts, he was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the first time.
On a quick turnaround at Indiana, he finished in a tie for 15th-place with a two-day mark of 225 (77-76-72) on the par-71, 7,432 yard Pfau Course. It was the third top-15 finish of the year and ninth overall for Collins in 30 career events.

Eastern Michigan senior goalkeeper Chelsea Abbotts led the EMU soccer team to its second win over Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan University, April 1. The Ottawa, Ontario native recorded a season-high eight saves on the way to her second shutout of the season, and her two clean sheets rank tied for third in the conference. The match pushed her to 30 saves on the season, which ranks second in the MAC.
