Each week a number of Eagles will be honored for their success in competition
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week.
Name: Taige Bryant

The top thrower on the men's side came from graduate student Taige Bryant (Edmond, Okla.-Edmond Memorial), who produced a 66.01m heave in the hammer throw, surpassing former Eagle Keith Williams' 64.28m in 2016 to earn the furthest throw in the event in school history at the Raleigh Relays, March 27. Additionally, the day prior, Bryant's discus throw of 53.01m put him second in the EMU record book, March 26. That mark sits behind former Eagle Clark Wilson who registered a toss of 56.60m in 2005.

The most spectacular performance amongst the women's throwers came from sophomore Miranda Cadwell (Plainfield, Ill.-Plainfield South) at the Raleigh Relays, March 26. The Illinois native put on a show in the discus, hurling a throw of 44.14m to set a new school record. The previous record at EMU of 43.96m was set by former Eagle Jada Taylor in 2016. Coming off a record-setting performance in the discus, Cadwell made a 48.40m toss the following day, placing her eighth on the all-time list, March 27.
