GREENSBORO, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University senior diver Bethany Berger will compete at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, March 18, in Greensboro, N.C. Participating in 1-meter diving, the preliminaries are set to take place at 10 a.m., with the finals occurring at 6 p.m.
    Fans can watch the meet on ESPN3, and can find results on DiveMeets.com. In addition, links and results will be posted on both EMUEagles.com, and the team's Twitter account, @EMUSwimDive.

EMU AT NCAA'S: With her appearance at the 2021 NCAA Swim & Dive Championships, March 18, Bethany Berger will become the 15th Eagle in program history to qualify for the sport's marquee event. In addition, she will become the ninth diver, and first since Alli Shereda in 2018 (3-meter), to compete at the meet.
    The last diver to represent the Green and White in 1-meter was All-American Kelly Hendricks in 2013. In 2013, Hendricks finished in 11th place with a 315.50 mark that year.

NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT  THREE: For the third time in four weeks, the Mid-American Conference announced that Eastern Michigan senior diver Bethany Berger as the Diver of the Week, Feb. 24.
    The Batavia, Ohio native swept the award in back-to-back weeks, Feb. 3 and 10, after sweeping the diving events in consecutive meets (at Bowling Green - Jan. 29, at Oakland - Feb. 5). At the UB Diving Invite, Feb. 19, Berger finished at the top of the conference field in 1-meter, while placing second in 3-meter to notch her third award of the season.

MAKE IT FOUR: Senior Bethany Berger exceeded the NCAA Zone C qualifying standard in each of her regular-season outings in 2020-21. She achieved a Zone C 'A' cut (295.00 or higher) at both the UB Diving Invite, Feb. 19, and the EMU Last Chance Meet, Feb. 26. The Batavia, Ohio native scored 310.30 and 307.15 in the prelims and finals at Buffalo, respectively, while achieving 310.15 at Eastern's meet.

DON'T EMBARRASS ME: Eastern Michigan diving is led by Head Coach Buck Smith, who is in his 21st season with EMU. He is the 11-time Mid-American Conference women's Diving Coach of the Year, the most of any coach in MAC history. Smith guided  Bethany Berger CSCAA All-America accolades in 2019-20. 

ON THE HORIZON: Berger and the Eagles will host a Senior Day Extravaganza to recognize the senior class Saturday, April 3, at Jones Natatorium. The event is set to begin at 1 p.m.
