EMU Football Adds Seven Student-Athletes to 2021 Class

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football program continued to add to the roster for the upcoming 2021 campaign, as the Eagles welcomed seven student-athletes to the football program Wednesday, Feb. 3, on National Signing Day. In total, EMU has added 27 fresh faces to the roster for the upcoming season after 20 players committed during the Early Signing Period in December.
The newest additions include three special teams, two defensive, and two offensive players representing five different states. EMU added a defensive lineman, a kicker, a linebacker, a long snapper, a quarterback, a punter, and a wide receiver.
"We had a big signing day in December, seven players started with us in January, and now we are adding more weapons in February," said Head Coach Chris Creighton. "We are excited about how this class is shaping up and how our team is being built for the 2021 season and beyond. Quality people who love football and who are really talented. That has been our formula and this class reflects those beliefs."
EMU's highly anticipated class features 18 student-athletes rated as three-star prospects by the national recruiting services. Overall, 12 members of the class are already enrolled at Eastern Michigan.
Eastern Michigan is expected to return to the gray turf for its first spring practice in early March. The session kicks off a string of 15 practice dates during a four-week period that culminates with the program's annual spring football game.
