Berger Wins MAC Diver of the Week

The senior has now collected the honor in back-to-back weeks
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving senior Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) has been named the Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced today, Feb. 10.
The award marks the second for Berger in her career, winning for the first time, Feb. 3, after taking first place in both diving events at Bowling Green, Jan. 29.
Against Oakland, Feb. 5, Berger swept the diving events for the second time in as many weeks.The Batavia, Ohio native scored 288.75 to win the 1-meter event, and posted a season-best score of 302.93 in 3-meter to complete the sweep of events. The senior has now exceeded the NCAA Zone C qualifying standard in each of her 1-meter outings this season, and surpassed the mark in 3-meter diving for the second time this season, doing so in back-to-back meets.
Berger and the EMU diving squad return to the pool next Thursday, Feb. 18 at the University at Buffalo Diving Invite. More information will be available as the meet approaches.
