MOBILE, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) – Have no fear, football is (almost) here! That's right fans, the 2021 LendingTree Bowl between Eastern Michigan University and Liberty University is tomorrow, Dec. 18. Before kickoff, the Eagles spent one more day navigating a busy schedule in Mobile today, Dec. 17.

Head Coach Chris Creighton and Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee got their morning off to an early start as the duo traveled to the site of the contest, Hancock Whitney Stadium, to participate in the game's official press conference. The pair made statements and answered questions from local and national media in anticipation for tomorrow's 4:45 p.m. CT (5:45 p.m. ET) kickoff.

After a morning of team meetings, it was the rest of the squad's turn to take in the sights of the playing surface, as the student-athletes and coaches took the field for their final tune-up ahead of gameday, in the early afternoon. The session was a walk-through format, focused on final schematic preparation before facing off with the Flames.

Following a return to the team hotel and team dinner, the team and its supporters (many of which arrived in Mobile today and wasted no time painting the town with Green and White apparel) took to the streets for the week's signature pregame event, a full-fledged Mardi Gras Parade, pep rally, and street party in downtown Mobile.

Nearly 30 floats, cars, and bands, including Eastern Michigan's marching band, took part in the celebration that drew throngs of spectators who braved the heavy rains to the downtown scene.

Following the parade, a team pep rally, featuring additional performances by the band and EMU cheer and dance teams, was held, before a downtown Mobile street party celebrating the bowl got underway.

The EMU Office of Alumni Relations held an evening event of its own to add to the festivities at a local Oyster House with food and fun ahead of the big game.

As for the team, they closed the evening with traditional pregame prep, including final meetings, film sessions, and an early curfew.

Fans not in Mobile are encouraged to cheer on the Eagles beginning at 4:45 p.m CT tomorrow, Dec. 18 on ESPN. WEMU 89.1 FM will also have coverage, with a special pregame show set to air at 4:15 p.m. CT. Fans all over the world can stream for free at WEMU.org or on the Varsity Network app. The team's social media, @EMUFB, will also provide content throughout the day.
