MOBILE, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) – With sun-filled skies and temperatures hovering right around 75 degrees, the Eastern Michigan University football team again took part in a jam-packed day of events today, Dec. 15, ahead of Saturdays' 23rd annual LendingTree Bowl game against Liberty University.

The day featured an early 6 a.m. start time for the EMU coaching and support staffs, as it was National Signing Day across college athletics. Seven future student-athletes penned their National Letters of Intent to play for Eastern beginning in 2022. A full signing day release with details about each signee can be found here.
After a full-team breakfast, the student-athletes, staff, and families had the opportunity to tour the local Airbus facility. Airbus is one of the worldwide leaders in aerospace engineering and manufacturing. Following the tour, the group gathered once more for a team lunch, this time held at nearby 23 East, a warehouse-style setting just minutes outside of the downtown scene in Mobile.

Following lunch, it was officially back to football, as the coaches and players hit the meeting rooms for film sessions and practice prep. After the short trek to nearby WMS Wright Preparatory School, the team took to the field for the first of two on-site practices ahead of the Dec. 18 contest against the Flames.

Donned in shorts, helmets, and shoulder pads, the Green and White completed 20, five-minute periods. Consistent with a regular season practice, the team completed both team-based and position group drills.

Not yet done for the evening, the team closed the night with a dual-team event alongside the players and coaches from Liberty. The two teams took to the stage to compete in a live game show experience. The event pitted players against each other in a head to head, fast-paced and high-energy game show event similar to that of Family Feud. Although Steve Harvey wasn't in attendance, the night was filled with laughs and fun. The Eagles absolutely dominated the event, winning four of the five team competitions played.

The Eagles will get right back to their busy schedule tomorrow, Dec. 16, with another practice, a community service event, and a trip aboard the historic military landmark, the USS Alabama.
