ESPN2 to Showcase EMU-Toledo Football Game

Kickoff set for Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. from the Glass Bowl in Toledo
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Lights. Camera. #MACtion. The Eastern Michigan-Toledo football game, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2, will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN2, the Mid-American Conference announced today, Oct. 25. WEMU (89.1 FM) will provide audio coverage of the game at the Glass Bowl in Toledo, Ohio.
A game with major implications, Eastern (5-3, 2-2 MAC) aims to become bowl eligible yet again with a win. The Eagles dominated Bowling Green, 55-24, in their most recent contest, Oct. 23. Meanwhile, Toledo (4-4, 2-2 MAC) hopes to maintain the momentum it built against Western Michigan on the same day, after handling the Broncos, 34-15, at home.
Separated by just 49 miles, the Eagles and Rockets will be meeting for the 49th time on Nov. 2. UT holds a 36-12 edge in the series, which began in 1923 when the Rockets claimed a 13-0 victory. Toledo took last year's matchup, 45-28, Nov. 18, 2020, at The Factory.
Eastern has not beaten Toledo inside the Glass Bowl in over two decades. The last time EMU came away victorious in Toledo was Oct. 23, 1999, when the Eagles beat the Rockets, 20-13. EMU has lost 10 consecutive road matchups against Toledo.
Of note, EMU is 10-8 in the month of November the last five years. Furthermore, if you exclude last year's COVID-adjusted season when the schedule began in November, then EMU's winning percentage jumps to .714 (10-4).
Since the start of the 2008 campaign, Eastern Michigan has been a part of 129 televised games. A total of 90 of those small-screen appearances have occurred on the ESPN-family of networks (45 ESPN3, 18 ESPN+, 9 ESPNU, 5 ESPN Regional, 4 SEC Network, 3 ESPN, 3 ESPN2, 1 ESPNews, 1 ESPN Classic, and 1 ABC). Eastern has also been a part of 14 nationally televised games on CBS Sports Network.
