Bezold Named MAC Specialist of the Week

This is the senior's third-career collecting the honor
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior gymnast Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) earned Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week honors, the league office announced today, Jan. 26. This is her third time being honored in her career, and is a first for EMU this season.
Bezold is a leader within the bars squad, earning her second-consecutive podium finish Sunday, Jan. 24 against Bowling Green. The senior scored a 9.850 on bars to claim first-place, after taking second at the Temple Triangular, Jan. 16. Her score of 9.850 marks a season-high and was enough to propel the Maineville, Ohio native to first in the MAC in the event.
Eastern Michigan travels to Kent State University for its first conference road meet of the season Sunday, Jan. 31, with the action slated to begin at 1 p.m. Fans will be able to follow along with live results on EMUEagles.com.
