Eastern kicked off the weekend with a 5-2 decision over NCAA Division II foe Missouri-St. Louis in a neutral site contest. After claiming the doubles point, Eastern took four of the six singles matches.

The pairing of senior Marie Mayerova (Kremlin, Czech Republic) and sophomore Julia Piatek (Melgiew, Poland-Liceum Lublin) were tested in their doubles match, needing a 14-12 tiebreak to outlast the duo of  Marina Prediger and Odette Beagrie, 7-6. Freshman Emma-Lou Pommiers (Aire Sur I'adour, France-Saint Dominique Pau) and redshirt sophomore Natalia Regalado (Alicante, Spain-IES Figueras Pacheco) notched a 7-5 victory to help Eastern take the early 1-0 edge.

Mayerova rolled to a dominating 6-2, 6-2 win over Prediger top open singles play, while junior Vasavi Ganesan (Tamil Nadu, India-Algappa Marticulation School) added a 6-1, 6-2 victory over UMSL's Beagrie. Pommiers added a 6-2, 6-1 decision, while Piatek closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph.

Match Two: EMU 7, SIU 0
The Eagles were dominant in their second match of the day, defeating Southern Indiana, 7-0, to claim the win.

On the singles side, Eastern earned a perfect sweep, as every student-athlete picked up a win. Mayerova dropped just three games as she defeated USI's No. 1 singles player, Lauren Hambrock, 6-2, 6-1. Ganesan was just as impressive at No. 2 singles, where she also needed just two sets to earn a win, dominating in 6-1, 6-2, fashion to defeat Alex Jamison.

The rout continued at the three and four singles spots, as newcomer Isabelle Popma (Staphorst, Netherlands-Center for Sports and Education) fought to secure a 6-3, 6-3 victory before Pommiers used just 13 total games to notch a 6-0, 6-1 win over USI's Chloe McIsaac. Regalado and Piatek rounded out the singles events with 6-0, 6-2, and 6-0, 6-1 wins over the Screaming Eagles.

In doubles action, the team of Mayerova and Piatek cruised to a 6-2 victory over the pair of Hambrock and Jamison, while Popma and Ganesan took care of Lauryn Thomposon and McIsaac in identical fashion, 6-2.
