Tennis Announces 2021 Spring Schedule

The Green and White are slated to host nine home matches
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University tennis head coach Jayson Wiseman announced the 2021 spring schedule Wednesday, Dec. 23.
"This was a very unique year for scheduling, especially with the MAC going to a home-and-home schedule for the conference," said Wiseman. "We weren't left with a lot of out of conference options, but we feel like this is a very competitive schedule, and that it will help us prepare for what looks to be very strong competition in conference play."
Eastern kicks off the season with back-to-back matches at Cleveland State University, Jan. 30, and Youngstown State, Jan. 31.
The month of February gets busy for the Eagles as they compete in 10 contests away from the Chippewa Club. The trip begins with a weekend road trip at the University of Dayton, Feb. 5, before the team heads to Xavier University the following day, Feb. 6. The weekend will close with a match at the University of Cincinnati, Feb. 7. The team will then travel to the State of Illinois to match up with Bradley University and UIC, Feb. 13. Next, EMU will meet up with the University of Missouri- Kansas City, Feb. 21, at a neutral site. The squad returns to the Mitten State in a double-dip at Oakland University, Feb. 26, and then closes out the month at Butler University, and at IUPUI, Feb. 28.
Eastern will return home to the Chippewa Club when the Green and White welcomes Oakland to Ypsilanti, for a pair of match, March 5. EMU then opens Mid-American Conference action with three home matches in-a-row against Ball State, Northern Illinois, and Western Michigan, taking place on March, 12, 14, and 19, respectively. From there, the team will travel south to Miami, March 21, before heading back home to play Toledo, March 26. The team wraps up the month of March at Buffalo, March 28.
Opening up April, Eastern invites Bowling Green State to Ypsilanti, April 9, then starts a four-match away swing, which will begin at Toledo, April 11. Following the battle with the Rockets, the team is at Ball State, Northern Illinois, and Western Michigan, April 16, 18, 23, respectively. The Green and White end April home against Miami, April 25, and then at BGSU, April 30.
The Eagles only have one regular season contest in May as it is set to finish the season against Buffalo, May 5.
