Countdown to Kickoff: Eagles Open Season in One Week

The 128th season of EMU football begins Sat., Aug. 31, in Conway, S.C.
Ypsilanti, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Preseason camp has officially closed and the Eastern Michigan University football team is set to shift its focus towards its week one opponent, Coastal Carolina University. The game is set to kick off one week from today, Aug. 31, at 3:30 p.m., inside Brooks Stadium, in Conway, S.C.
A highly anticipated 2019 campaign, the Eagles look to continue on the success of their last three seasons, which has included 19 wins, two postseason bowl game appearances, including the team's first since the 1987 California Bowl (2016 Bahamas Bowl), and two victories over "Power Five," teams.
With seven days to go before the Eagles clash with the Chanticleers, the team will enjoy a final off-day this Sunday, Aug. 25, before undergoing a mutli-day set of practices, and finally, a plane trip to Myrtle Beach, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 30.
The Eagles have just completed a rigorous 20-practice fall preseason camp, which included a handful of days inside the St. Joe's Sports Dome, the team's indoor practice facility, intended to simulate the hot and humid conditions that are expected in the Palmetto State next weekend.
EMU Head Coach Chris Creighton, entering his sixth year at the front of the EMU football program is set to partake in his first pre-game press conference of the season, Monday, Aug. 26, at 11:30 a.m. ET.

After a three-week road swing to begin the season, the Eagles open their 2019 home schedule at "The Factory" inside Rynearson Stadium Saturday, Sept. 21, versus Central Connecticut State University.
