EMU Wraps Up First Week of Preseason with Shutout at St. Bonaventure

Eagles saw two different goal scorers during preseason exhibition
OLEAN, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University soccer team wrapped up their first week of preseason with an exhibition match against the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies Sunday afternoon at the Marra Athletic Complex in Olean, N.Y.
The Eagles defeated the Bonnies 3-0 with goals from redshirt senior Kristin Hullibarger (Brooklin, Ontario-Donald A. Wilson) and freshman Amanda Cripps (Bradford, Ontario-Trinity Catholic).
Hullibarger opened the scoring for the Green and White with 1:26 left in the first half to send the Eagles into the break up 1-0.
Cripps netted two goals in the final five minutes to seal the win for the Eagles, 3-0.
Goalkeepers Chelsea Abbotts (Ottawa, Ontario-Mother Teresa), Mabel Dunn (Oakville, Ontario-White Oaks Secondary) and Rebecca Przybylo (Canton, Mich.-Plymouth) each played 30 minutes in goal to contribute to the win.
Eastern Michigan will continue preseason training this week before hosting Oakland University to open the season Thursday, Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. at Scicluna Field.
