Players will be released chronologically in groups of five over the next five weeks

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — In celebration of the 25th year of the Eastern Michigan University soccer program, the EMU department of athletics is unveiling the best 25 players to represent EMU. Each week groups of five players will be announced in chronological order based on when they donned the Green and White. Below is the first five players that make the list.

This week's group consists of Tracy Deeter, Brandy Jones, Sarah Willis, Amanda Kulikowski, and Katie Lewis. All five players were members of the Eagles' 1999 Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship team and fueled the Green and White to its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth.

An E-Club Hall of Famer, Deeter played for Eastern from 1997-2000 and was a two-time First Team All-MAC selection. After being named to the 1999 MAC All-Tournament Team and leading the Eagles to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, Deeter was tabbed the 2000 MAC Player of the Year. Deeter's accomplishments extended to the academic realm, where she was a two-time Academic All-MAC selection, the program's first-ever CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American, a CoSIDA All-District First Teammer, named to the College Scholar All-American First Team and the Scholar Central Region First Team.

Jones, who represented Eastern on the pitch from 1997-2001, was a two-time All-MAC selection. She was named to the All-MAC First Team in 1997 and earned second team honors a year later. A two-time Academic All-MAC awardwinner, Jones is one of five players in program history to record a hat trick, doing so against Kent State, Sept. 13, 1997. She scored the quickest goal in program history at the time - one minute and 34 seconds into EMU's match against Saginaw Valley State, Sept. 2, 1998, a record that stood until 2015 and now ranks as the third fastest in program history. For her career, Jones ranks ninth with 19 career goals and 10th all-time with 40 career points.

The first goalkeeper to make the list is Willis, who suited up for the Eagles from 1998 to 2000. Throughout an illustrious career in which she led EMU to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, Willis was twice named to the all-conference squads, while she was honored as the MAC Player of the Year in 1999. An Academic All-MAC selection, Willis was named a NSCAA/adidas Third Team All-American in 1999, while also being tabbed First Team All-Great Lakes Region by the organization. Overall, Willis holds the program records for career wins (35), shutouts (24), and goals against average (0.92). Her .817 career save percentage is the third-best mark all-time, while her 250 career saves are slotted fifth in program laurels. In the 1999 season, Willis set the program standard with a 0.46 goals against average, while also posting the best single season save percentage in EMU annals at .918.

Kulikowski (1998-01), a four-time All-MAC selection and the 1998 MAC Freshman of the Year is one of the more decorated players in the program's history. A two-time Academic All-MAC selection, Kulikowski was also honored as a CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American and named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District. One of two players in Eastern history with 100-or-more career points, she ranks second all-time with 101, while her 34-point season in 1999 is second-best all-time. Additionally, her 28 points in 1998 rank eighth all-time in single season history. Kulikowski is slotted second all-time with 35 career goals and is one of just three players in program history to score 30-or-more goals. A Second Team All-Great Lakes Region honoree in 1999, she is also the career assist leader with 31 helpers.

Rounding out this week's group is Lewis, who was a four-time All-MAC selection from 1998-2001. A two-time Academic All-MAC awardwinner, as well as a CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Teammer in 2001, Lewis left her mark in the EMU record book. For her career, Lewis tallied 17 assists, the eighth-most all-time, while adding the fourth-most career goals (24). Meanwhile, her 65 career points are slotted fourth-best in program history and her 23-point season in 1999 stack up as the 11th-most in single season laurels.
