EMU Football Student-Athletes Attend MAC Youth Football Clinic

DETROIT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Members of the Eastern Michigan University football team joined student-athletes and staff from around the conference at the annual Mid-American Conference Youth Football Clinic Monday evening, July 22, at Ford Field. Over 400 kids from around Detroit attended the event, running through drills led by coaches and student-athletes from all 12 MAC institutions.
Senior quarterback Mike Glass III (St. Louis, Mo.-Hazlewood Central-Southwestern) and senior defensive back Vince Calhoun (Middletown, Ohio-Middletown) represented EMU, conducting agility drills throughout the clinic.
The activities began as kids took a knee to listen to words of wisdom from MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher. The commissioner touched on the importance of off-field responsibilities as the key to being successful athletes. Following the speeches, the group was broken up into six different sections working on a variety of football drills including agility, catching, tackling and throwing.
The Eagles will remain in Detroit as the MAC will host its 2019 Football Media Day on Tuesday, July 23, at Ford Field, officially kicking off the 2019 season.

Not only will MAC Football fans around the country be able to watch the live show previewing the upcoming 2019 season, but they will also have the opportunity to interact with the head coaches, student-athletes and league office regarding media day.
