YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The annual spring game for the Eastern Michigan University football team is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, inside "The Factory" at Rynearson Stadium. The offense and defense will take the field, earning points in a specialized scoring system. The event is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. and admission is free.
Eastern has plenty of activities scheduled for the entire family. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. and parking is free in the Rynearson Stadium lots across Hewitt Rd. The Convocation Center lots are reserved for another event taking place in the building.
EMU hosts its annual flag football game for football alumni on the gray turf inside the stadium at 1 p.m. Check-in will begin at is 12:15 p.m. followed by the hour-long game and an alumni reception.
The Kids Zone with inflatables, face painting, and games will be setup in the south end zone to entertain the youth in attendance, while Touchdown Terrace will also be setup on the south end for the adults.
Fans will have the ability to purchase or renew season tickets on-site. Select fans and season ticket-holders that sign up at the marketing kiosk located inside the main gate will have the opportunity to participate in on-field activities to win EMU prizes. Additionally, Chick-fil-A and Little Caesars will have special in-game deliveries to random fans in attendance.
Furthermore, EMU students also have the opportunity to take home a semester of books via an on-field contest. The registration table to participate will be located near the main gate.
Swoop's Food Pantry will also have collection bins for fans to donate non-perishable items as they enter the main gate. The mission of the pantry is to provide temporary food assistance for enrolled EMU students in need. Swoop's is a sustainable resource on-campus with a goal of distributing food discreetly in an easily accessible and safe environment on-campus.
Following the contest, fans will have the ability to interact with the team for autographs as well as a meet & greet with the coaching staff.
The 2019 EMU football season will feature a year-long series of events, initiatives, and programming centered around fans, student-athletes, and the community. The celebration will salute the five decades of student-athletes that have played inside Rynearson Stadium, as well as, the more than 2.8 million fans who have passed through the turnstiles to watch one of the 252 home games in the venue. Furthermore, the College Football 150th Anniversary celebration will be recognized at all divisions of the collegiate game during the 2019 season.
Fans can now order reserved non-chairback season tickets for just $90 ($18 per game). EMU faculty and staff can secure season tickets for $70 ($14 per game), while youth season tickets are just $50 ($10 per game). In addition, EMU continues to offer the Ultimate Fan Season Ticket Plan for $150 ($30 per game). The premiere plan includes a padded chairback seat and VIP parking in the Convocation Center lots.
