AUSTIN, Texas (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University senior swimmer Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) completed her first of three days of competition at the NCAA Championships, March 21, inside the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas. 

Duncan earned a 58th-place finish in the 200 Individual Medley preliminary heats, touching the wall with a time of 2:00.65. The Galesburg, Ill. native's efforts in Thursday's competition bested her 2018 finish by eight places, while also trumping her time from last year by almost three seconds. Additionally, her performance topped swimmers from the University of Utah, the University of Missouri, the University of Louisville, the University of Houston, and the University of South Carolina.

Duncan continues competition tomorrow, March 22, dipping into the pool at 9 a.m. CT for the 100 Breaststroke.  Preliminary heats will begin at 9 a.m. and will be streamed live here, with final heats set to start at 5 p.m. CT with coverage on ESPNU.
