Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success in competition

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMUCU's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are sophomore gymnast Jada Rondeau and senior men's golfer Beau Breault.

Week's Achievements: Eastern Michigan sophomore Jada Rondeau (Noorwood Young American, Minn.-Central) won the all-around title over the weekend versus Kent State, March 15, with a score of 39.275. The score is a career-best for Rondeau and is tied for the 15th-best all-around score in EMU program history. She tied with teammate Shannon Gregory for the balance beam title with a 9.850, while tying her career-best on the bars (9.850). Rondeau also took second on the floor (9.875) and seventh on the vault (9.700).  Overall, EMU broke the 196.000 barrier for the first time since the 2017 MAC Championships, as the team defeated the Golden Flashes on Senior Night at the Convocation Center, 196.025-193.900.

Week's Achievements: On a day the color green is celebrated worldwide, Eastern Michigan senior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) helped make sure the leaderboard at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular featured the verdant shade on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Breault notched his seventh career top-10 showing to pace the Eagles with a one-under 215 (70-73-72) on the par-72, 6,793-yard El Campeon Golf Course. The Hartland, Mich. native finished in a three-way tie for eighth, most noticeably edging No. 70 James Nicholas from Yale. Breault opened the round with an eagle on the opening hole, as he added five birdies throughout the final day. Overall, the EMU men's golf team finished in sixth-place with a 875 (286-293-296). EMU defeated a pair of Mid-American Conference foes (Northern Illinois and Indiana) as well as a pair of Big Ten Conference rivals (Indiana and Wisconsin).
