Diving Concludes Competition at NCAA Zone Championships

All Eagles earned top-40 finishes in the 1-meter competition
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's diving team completed its time at the NCAA Zone C Championships March 15, inside the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University.
All four Eagles earned top-40 finishes led by senior Gabrielle Mace's (Clinton, Mich.-Chippewa Valley) 30th-place effort, scoring 243.20. Sophomore Micaela Schempf (Bowling Green, Ohio) finished right behind Mace in 31st place, scoring 239.90, followed by fellow sophomore Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) with a score of 235.35, good for a 36th-place finish. Junior Sophia Tsafantakis (Washington, Mich.-Romeo) rounded out the Eagles' finishers, earning 40th place with a 227.55-point effort.
Now, the Green and White turn its focus to NCAA Championships where Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) will represent Eastern Michigan for the fourth straight season, March 20-23, in Austin, Texas. Duncan is the only swimmer in program history to participate in the national championship competition all four years of her career.
