YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University E-Club Hall of Famer Lindell Reason passed away Monday, Oct. 21, at the age of 68. Reason, who was inducted into the E-Club Letterwinners Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008, was an outstanding point guard for the EMU men's basketball team from 1969-72.

In his three varsity seasons, Reason scored 1,454 points which ranks 10th in scoring history. He also hauled down 330 rebounds and his 417 career assists rank fifth in program history. Reason helped lead EMU to two consecutive NAIA National Tournaments and the 1970-71 team made it to the championship game. He also assisted the 1971-72 team to a final four NCAA College Division finish.

Born in Detroit on Oct. 20, 1951, Reason was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the eighth round (123rd pick overall) of 1973 NBA Draft.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Spokane, Wash.
