Delaney Duncan earns her first weekly award of 2018-19, the second for an Eagle this season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior swimmer Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) was named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday, Jan. 23. Duncan earns her first weekly nod by the MAC this season and the second of her career. The award is also the second conference weekly honor for the Eagles this season.

Duncan posted two top-10 league marks in the Eagles' 159-141 defeat of the University at Buffalo, Jan. 19. Her top finish in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.53 was the second-fastest time by a MAC swimmer this season, behind only her own time of 1:00.88 at the Denison Invitational. Her other effort in the stroke showed similar results, as her first-place 200 Breast finish with a time of 2:15.81 registered the fifth-fastest conference mark in the event this season. She also swam a leg of the Eagles' first place 200 Yard medley relay squad, while also adding a third-place finish in the 200 IM. Her finish in the individual medley was the top finish for a member of the Green and White.

Eastern Michigan dips back into action Saturday, Jan. 26 when the team welcomes MAC-foe Bowling Green State University to Jones Natatorium. The meeting of the Eagles and Falcons is set to begin at 1 p.m.
