Eagles' swimmers and divers honored for excellence in the classroom for the Fall 2018 semester

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team has been named a Division I Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced Tuesday, Jan 22. Eastern is one of a record 713 teams from 460 universities to receive the honor.

The teams selected by CSCAA were chosen based on their Fall 2018 grade point averages. To be eligible for the award, teams are required to post a GPA average of 3.0-or-greater while maintaining a roster of 12-or-more swimmers. 

EMU was one of four Mid-American Conference schools to receive the honor, as Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, and Miami University were also named Scholar All-American squads. Eastern Michigan posted a 3.46 team GPA in the Fall 2018 semester, while also maintaining a perfect dual meet record throughout the same time period. 

The Green and White returns to the pool Saturday, Jan. 26, as it welcome MAC-foe Bowling Green to Jones Natatorium. The dual between the Falcons and Eagles is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
