The Saturday, Oct. 13, matchup will showcase homegrown aspects of Michigan life
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - From Mackinac Island to Campus Martius, there are plenty of unique attributes to living in the state of Michigan. This year, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics plans to showcase and celebrate many of the homegrown aspects of Michigan life during the inaugural Made In The Mitten game Saturday, Oct. 13, against the University of Toledo. Game time will be announced 12-days prior to kickoff.
Why the mitten you ask? When someone asks us where we live, we hold up our hand and use it as a map, since Michigan is shaped like a mitten. We even refer to parts of our state as appendages.
"As a native of Michigan, I take great pride in the role that athletics and our University play within our state" said EMU Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee. "The Made In The Mitten game is one way that Eastern Athletics can highlight the hard work and passion of our local communities and the region as a whole."
Events surrounding the game will feature businesses that were founded in the state (both big and small) as well as groups and clubs that showcase our state's heritage. The 2018 Made In The Mitten game is presented by
Cueter Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM.
To have your business featured at the event, contact Heidi Wegmueller, General Manager - IMG College/EMU, at 734.219.8357.
