The 2017 First Team All-MAC selection becomes the latest Eagle to sign with Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – Former Eastern Michigan University wide receiver Sergio Bailey II (San Diego, Calif.-Olympian-Grossmont College) has signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He becomes the third Eagle with the franchise after defensive lineman Pat O'Connor (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Rita) and offensive lineman Cole Gardner (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) joined the club last season.

Bailey was EMU's top receiving threat in 2017, posting 54 catches for 878 yards and nine scores. The nine touchdowns were the third-most in an EMU single-season while the 54 grabs ranked eighth-best. Nationally, Bailey ranked 20th in receiving touchdowns, 42nd in receiving yards, and 79th in receptions per game.

In 25 career games, the JUCO product caught at least one pass in every game to finish with 114 receptions for 1,746 yards and 16 touchdowns. Those numbers rank ninth, sixth, and third on the all-time EMU list, respectively. Named to the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list, Bailey was an Academic All-MAC selection in 2017 with a 3.34 GPA in communication.
