Pierre and Shereda Pace EMU at NCAA Zone Championships

Pierre led the squad with a 14th-place finish
COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Senior Alli Shereda (Fraser, Mich.-Fraser) and freshman Al'x Pierre (London, Ontario-St. Thomas Aquinas) led the Eastern Michigan University men's and women's diving team on day one of the NCAA Zone C Championship at the McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion at the Ohio State University, Thursday, March 8.
Shereda qualified for the 1-meter finals, coming away with a 15th-place finish with a final score of 533.20. Freshman Sophia Tsafantakis (Washington, Mich.-Romeo) also posted a top-20 finish, taking 19th with a mark of 258.15
On the men's side, Pierre was the only Eagle to qualify for the 3-meter final. The freshman concluded the day with a final score of 660.30, good for 14th-place. Senior Peter Rusenas (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) and junior Tom Gillis (Halifax, Nova Scotia-Citadel) both finished in the top-35, taking 20th and 32nd-place, respectively.
The Eagles continue competition at the NCAA Zones tomorrow, March 9. The day is set to being at 1 p.m. and can be followed through live results here.
