Minott was named to the Third Team, while Lewis was Honorable Mention

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Redshirt junior Danielle Minott (Miami, Fla.-Miami Country Day (Syracuse)) and freshman Courtnie Lewis (Belton, Mo.-Belton) of the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team reeled in postseason honors from the Mid-American Conference the league office announced Tuesday, March 6. The All-MAC teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Minott landed on the All-MAC Third Team, while Lewis was named All-MAC Honorable Mention as well as a Freshmen All-MAC honoree. Together, the duo represent the most All-MAC honorees in a season since EMU garnered two selections at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Minott led the Eagles in scoring at 16.1 points per game, the ninth-best in the conference, highlighted by 20 double-digit scoring efforts. A two-time MAC West Division Player of the Week honoree, Minott has also recorded seven 20+ point performances. In addition to her solid scoring, Minott grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game, added 2.4 assists per contest, and 2.3 steals per outing.

The Miami, Fla. native dropped a career-best 44 points at Buffalo, Jan. 27, breaking the previous school record held by Tavelyn James. Minott later went on to knock down seven triples against Toledo, Feb. 21, the fifth-most in EMU single-game history. Her 70 percent shooting from long range also tied her for eighth-best in EMU annals as she went 7-of-10 from deep against the Rockets. Currently, Minott ranks seventh in EMU laurels for scoring by a junior with 456 points and 18th overall.

A 5-foot-10 guard, Lewis has pieced together one of the best freshman seasons in EMU history. The Belton, Mo. native has been EMU's second-leading scorer at 14.9 points per game, while also adding 4.7 boards per contest. She has racked up 20 double-digit scoring performances and five 20-point games. Not only has Lewis been one of Eastern Michigan's top scorers, she has also been one of its most efficient. Lewis boasts a 45.3 field goal percentage, 40.5 three-point field goal percentage, and has shot a solid 78.6 percent at the free throw line. She is the only freshman in the country shooting 45 percent-or-better from the field, 40 percent-or-better from three, and 75 percent-or-better from the free throw line.

Overall, Lewis is slotted fifth in the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (40.5), 11th in scoring, tied for 11th in free throw percentage (78.6), and 12th in three-pointers made (51), all of which are the best of any freshman in the league. Meanwhile, her 15.1 ppg rank seventh-best among "true" freshmen nationally.

For the season, Lewis' 423 points are the second-most by a freshman in EMU annals. Her 40.5 three-point field goal percentage is the second-best by a freshman in EMU history, while it checks in at eighth-best overall.

Next up for the Eagles is a quarterfinal meeting with No. 1 Central Michigan University Wednesday, March 7, in Cleveland, Ohio. Tipoff between EMU and CMU is slated for noon inside Quicken Loans Arena.
