The two teams make up their match that was cancelled in January
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University tennis team returns to the friendly confines of the Chippewa Racquet Club, Saturday, March 3, when it welcomes Grand Valley State University to Ypsilanti for a make-up contest, beginning at 12 p.m.
The Eagles (7-3) and Lakers (14-0, 10-0 GLIAC) were originally scheduled to play in late January, but Michigan's winter weather forced the teams to cancel the original date.
Grand Valley State is a NCAA Division II school and member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The GLIAC plays its championship tennis season in the fall, where GVSU came out as the conference champions. They have only played one match so far this spring, defeating Walsh University, 9-0.
Eastern is currently riding a five-match winning streak and is off to one of its best starts in recent history. The Green and White has already surpassed its 2016 win total with seven, and is 1-0 at home this season.
Action between Eastern Michigan and Grand Valley State is scheduled for 12 p.m.
