YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – After 31 years of waiting, fans of the Eastern Michigan University football team finally get their opportunity to watch the team play a postseason game back on United States soil. Playing in a bowl for the second time in three seasons, Eastern squares off against Georgia Southern University in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl Saturday, Dec. 15, in Montgomery, Ala.

Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 11, EMU will paint the city of Montgomery in green and white with plenty of events for fans and alumni to enjoy. In addition, EMU's Pride of the Peninsula Marching Band will be making the trip along with the EMU cheer and dance teams.

Tickets for the game are on sale through the EMU Athletics Ticket Office for $30 each. Tickets can be ordered online through EMUEagles.com/tickets or by calling 734.487.3669.  Eastern fans are reminded to purchase their Camellia Bowl tickets directly from the EMU Athletics Ticket Office, as revenue from tickets sold by Eastern will directly support our student-athletes.

Eastern will also be utilizing a Tickets for Troops program that will allow fans to purchase tickets for the Eagles' Bowl matchup and then donate them to men and women serving in the United State Armed Forces. Fans who are not attending the game, but would still like to participate in the program are encouraged to do so. Tickets for Troops can be added to an existing order or denoted at the time an order is placed. Cost of the ticket is $20.

In the giving spirit, an anonymous donor has already stepped up to match up to 500 tickets purchased this week for The Tickets for Troops program. Join us in spreading the holiday cheer this week and support the Eagles Tickets for Troops campaign. All tickets purchased for this effort will be distributed by EMU Athletics to troops and their families in the area surrounding the bowl site. The Tickets for Troops program includes a game ticket and Eastern Football t-shirt.

A select number of premium seating options are also available at the Cramton Bowl.  Of note, a $5 processing fee will be added to all tickets (except Tickets for Troops).

On Friday, Dec. 14, EMU will be hosting a pep rally at the Union Station Train Shed at 5 p.m. Following the event, Eastern will then host an EMU Alumni & Fan Social event from 6-8 p.m. CT at The Exchange Bar (201 Tallapoosa St, Montgomery, AL 36104). The holiday spirit will be in full effect as the City of Montgomery will have its annual downtown Christmas Parade beginning at 6:15 p.m. CT. featuring performances from both the EMU and GS marching bands. Beginning at 9 p.m. CT, the alumni event shifts to the at AlleyBar (166 Commerce St, Montgomery, AL 36104).

Prior to kickoff on Saturday, Dec. 15, fans will be able to gather at Paterson Field for the EMU Alumni & Friends Tailgate at Fan Fest from 12:30-4:30 p.m. CT. Join fellow alums and fans in the tent for food, beverages, beer and wine open bar, live entertainment, DJ and more. A tailgate ticket is required for $25 - click the following link to purchase the tailgate pass.

At 1:30 p.m., show your pride in the green and white with the rep rally at Fan Fest before gates open to the historic Cramton Bowl at 2:30 p.m.

Eastern Michigan, which finished tied for second place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference, wrapped up the regular season with a 7-5 record. The Eagles closed out the season strong, winning five straight MAC games for their first winning record in conference play since 1989. Overall, Eastern's 19 wins over the past three years are the most since winning 23 from 1987-89.

The Eagles are facing a Sun Belt Conference team for the first time in a bowl game.  The Raycom Media Camellia Bowl will mark the first meeting between Eastern and Georgia Southern (9-3, 6-2 SBC).
