CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University sophomore punter Jake Julien (Barrie, Ontario, Canada-North Collegiate) garnered Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the fifth time this season, the league office announced Nov. 26. Julien is the first Eagle to be honored with a MAC weekly award five times in a season in program history, and joins teammate Ian Eriksen as the MAC's week 13 honorees.

Julien punted eight times for 299 yards, including long of 53, in a 28-20 win at Kent State University, Nov. 23. Julien was a pivotal piece in helping Eastern Michigan win the battle for field position with pinning Kent State inside its own 20-yard line three times.

Julien currently ranks 23rd nationally in punting and second in the MAC with an average of 43.6 yards per punt.

With the win, Eastern Michigan wrapped up the regular season with its first five-game MAC winning streak since 1989 and posted its first winning record in conference play since 1989. EMU will learn its destination Sunday, Dec. 2, when postseason matchups are announced, starting with the College Football Playoff semifinals and New Year's Six bowl games.
