Ian Eriksen Named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

Eriksen became the first Eagle to rush for three TDs since 2014
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Following a career-best performance that led the Eastern Michigan University football team to its second seven-win season in the past three years, senior running back Ian Eriksen (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) was named Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced, Nov. 26. Eriksen is the 11th Eagle to be honored with a MAC weekly award, and joins teammate Jake Julien as the MAC's week 13 honorees.
Eriksen paved the way for Eastern in a 28-20 win at Kent State University Friday, Nov. 23. The Clarkston, Mich. product carried the ball 17 times for a season-high 118 yards and a career-best three touchdowns in a 28-20 win at Kent State University, Nov. 23. He posted a one-yard touchdown in the first quarter, before adding the game-winning score in the second period. His three rushing touchdowns are the most by an Eagle since Reginald Bell scampered for three scores against Buffalo, Oct. 11, 2014.
With the win, Eastern Michigan concluded the regular season with its first five-game MAC winning streak since 1989 and clinched a bowl berth for the second time in the past three seasons.
