Baseball Announces 2019 Schedule

The Eagles will play 20 games at Oestrike Stadium in 2019
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team and first year Head Coach Eric Roof announced its 2019 schedule Thursday, Oct. 18. The Eagles will play 55 games, 20 of which will be played at Oestrike Stadium, with the season beginning Feb. 15 in Alabama.
The Green and White travel to the south to start the season, playing 14 games on the road before returning home. Eastern will face off against the New Jersey Institute of Technology in a three-game series, Feb. 15-17, in Hoover, Ala.
The Eagles then travel to San Antonio, Texas to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, as well as the University of the Incarnate Word, playing each twice, Feb. 21-24. Making their way through Texas, Eastern will make a pit stop in Abilene to play Abilene Christian, Feb. 27, before finishing the trip through the state with a three-game series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, March 1-3. To complete the long road trip, the Eagles travel to Huntington, W. Va. for a three-game series against Marshall, March 8-10.
The Eagles host their home-opener at Oestrike Stadium against the University of Dayton, March 12, before heading back to Texas, to face TCU in a weekend set, March 15-17.
EMU opens Mid-American Conference play on the road against Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Ill., March 22-24. The Eagles play a three-game series against the Huskies before returning home to take on the NAIA World Series Qualifier Northern Ohio, March 26, and Concordia, March 27.
Eastern plays Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, March 29-31, before returning home to take on in-state foe Oakland, April 3. EMU will stay home and welcome Bowling Green, April 5-7, before hitting the road to face the Golden Grizzlies, April 10, Ball State, April 12-14, and Dayton, April 16. The Eagles finish the road trip in East Lansing against coach Eric Roof's alma mater, Michigan State, April 17.
Eastern stays home for two series against Ohio, April 19-21, and Toledo, April 26-28, followed by another road trip of six games. The Eagles play their third game against Oakland in Rochester, Mich., April 30, followed by Youngstown State in Youngstown, Ohio, May 1.
EMU continues MAC play in a three-game series against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich., May 3-5. The Green and White visit the Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., May 8, before returning home to finish off the regular season.
The Eagles end their regular season with a six-game home stand, taking on MAC rival Central Michigan, May 10-12, and finishing the regular season against last year's 2018 MAC Champions, Kent State, May 16-18.
The MAC Tournament will take place over four days in Avon, Ohio, May 22-26. If the Eagles win the MAC title, they will advance to the NCAA Regional, May 31- June 3. The College World Series will be held in Omaha, Neb., June 14-26.
