Women's Basketball Releases Non-Conference Schedule

The Eagles open the season at home, Nov. 10, against Florida A&M
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Castro released the squad's 2017-18 non-conference schedule today, Aug. 21. The Eagles will play an 11-game non-conference schedule, featuring three home games, prior to the start of Mid-American Conference play.
Eastern opens the season back at the Convocation Center after starting the 2016-17 season on the road. The Eagles, under second-year Coach Castro, will welcome Florida A&M, Friday Nov. 10, before going head-to-head with the Rochester Yellowjackets, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.
Following the Monday contest, the Eagles hit the road for an eight-game road trip beginning with Cleveland State. After the Nov. 16 contest in Ohio, Eastern heads to New York to take on St. Bonaventure, Nov. 18. From there, it is wheels up for the Green and White as it travels to Los Angeles, for the Loyola Marymount Tournament. There, the Eagles square off against Denver, Nov. 24, before facing host Loyoala Marymount, Nov. 25.
The Eagles have a week to recover before heading to the Gopher State to take on Big Ten Conference opponent Minnesota, Dec. 3. After a week off, Eastern spends a weekend in Illinois to play a pair of games. First, EMU battles Illinois-Chicago, Dec. 8, before clashing with Illinois State, Dec. 10. The Green and White ends its away-game spree back in the mitten when it travels down the road against the Titans of Detroit Mercy.
Eastern's return to the Convocation Center, Dec. 20, signals the end of non-conference play, as the Eagles host the Longwood Lancers at 4 p.m.
The MAC schedule will be released in the coming weeks along with season ticket availability.
