Johnston Paces Eagles on Day One of NCAA Zone Championships

Johnston posted a team-best 13th-finish
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman Brielle Johnston (Ottawa, Ontario-Catholique Franco-Quest) led the Eastern Michigan University men's and women's diving team on day one of the NCAA Zone Championships at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center, March 9.
Johnston qualified for the 3-meter finals, coming away with a 13th-place finish with a final score of 567.70. Juniors Molly Miller (Farmington Hills, Mich.-Harrison) and Alli Shereda (Fraser, Mich.-Fraser) also posted top-30 finishes, taking 26th and 29th-place, respectively.
On the men's side, freshman Noah Galluzzo (Mexico, N.Y.) was the lone competitor for the Eagles, securing a 21st-place finish with a score of 253.90.
The Eagles continue competition at the NCAA Zones tomorrow, March 10, with the 1-meter dive. The day is set to begin at 1 p.m. and can be followed through live results here.
