The 14-team event will be played March 27-28 at Pinetree Country Club
KENNESAW, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team is set to tee off at the Pinetree Country Club for the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate, March 27-28, for the team's fourth appearance of the 2017 calendar year.
The Eagles return to the Peach State after just last week taking part in the 3M Augusta Invitational, where they finished tied with Coastal Carolina University in a star-studded field. Junior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) collected her second top-20 showing of the year after she fired a final round 76 for a total of 224 (75-73-76).
Eastern will face Augusta, Chattanooga, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Kent State, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Memphis, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Texas Tech, Troy, and Virginia Tech in the competition. The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,032-yard golf course just a quick drive from the campus of Kennesaw State.
Traveling for the Eagles will be the familiar faces of Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth), Beck, Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval), Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne), and Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School).
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, March 27, with 18 more on Tuesday, March 28, with shotgun starts each day.
