YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team returns to action Sunday, Nov. 12 when it hosts the University of Michigan-Dearborn inside the Convocation Center.
Fans can catch the game on ESPN3 with Ryan Wooley providing play-by-play and Chad Bush serving as the analyst.

LAST TIME OUT: EMU kicked off the 2017-18 season with an impressive performance against Spring Arbor Friday, Nov. 10., downing the Cougars 92-60 in the Convocation Center.
Redshirt junior Elijah Minnie scored a game-high 22 points and junior James Thompson IV (Baton Rouge, La.-Parkview Baptist) notched career double-double number 40 with 10 points and 14 rebounds in the Eagles' win.

CLASS IS IN SESSION: Eastern welcomed over 4,700 students for the annual Education Day Friday, Nov. 10, in conjunction with the Eagles' game against Spring Arbor. The goal was to get area children excited about college at an early age and give children an engaging, positive atmosphere to reinforce the learning going on at their school.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE: Junior James Thompson IV recorded his 40th career double-double with his 14 rebound and 10 point performance against Spring Arbor Friday, Nov. 10. With his next double-double, he will pass Eagle great George Gervin for second-most in program history.

WHO'S THE NEW GUY? Redshirt junior Elijah Minnie (Pittsburgh, Pa.-Lincoln Park) put together a tremendous first game as a member of the Green and White, scoring 22 points and adding four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals. The 22 points were the most scored in a debut-game since Willie Mangum IV score 18 in 2015.

DOUBLE-DIGIT DIAPER DANDY DEBUTS: Redshirt Freshman Ty Groce (Ypsilanti, Mich.-Lincoln) made a memorable debut in the 2017-18 opener, scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, stealing six passes and grabbing four rebounds. The six steals marked the first time an Eastern player swiped five or more steals in a single game since Tim Bond did it Jan. 28, 2017.
Joining Groce in double-figures was true freshman Kevin McAdoo (West Bloomfield, Mich.-West Bloomfield), who dropped in 10 points on three-of-four shooting, including a two-for-three game from beyond the arc.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT: The 32-point margin of victory in the 2017-18 debut game against Spring Arbor was the first time the Eagles won by 30 or more points since Dec. 22, 2016 against Marygrove (101-48).

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE WOLVERINES: Sunday's contest against Michigan-Dearborn is the first time the two will meet as regular-season opponents. Eastern hosted UM-D in a scrimmage to kick off the 2012-13 campaign, with the Eagles cruising to an 82-38 win.

ON THE HORIZON: Eastern continues its early-season home stretch with a bout against Arkansas State in the Convocation Center, Thursday, Nov. 16. The game is part of the 2017 Hoosier Tipoff Classic, which also includes a home game with Howard, Saturday, Nov. 18, and road battles at Indiana, Nov. 24, and South Florida, Nov. 26.
