EMU returns to action Sunday, Oct. 15, against Miami
MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University could not muster enough offense against Ball State University Friday, Oct. 13, at BSU Soccer Field. The Eagles (5-10-1, 2-5-0 MAC) recorded just two shots, one of which was on target, in a 3-0 loss to the Cardinals (7-6-2, 5-1-1 MAC).
Junior Kaylin Williams (Kanas City, Mo.-Winnetonka) recorded four saves in the setback as the Cardinals outshot the Eagles 16-2. Redshirt junior Kristin Nason (Brooklin, Ontario-Donald A. Wilson) and freshman Lindsey Shira (New Baltimore, Mich.-Anchor Bay) accounted for one shot apiece, with Nason registering EMU's lone shot on goal.
Ball State scored the game winner just one minute and 48 seconds into the match on a corner kick and never looked back. Nason ripped a shot in the 11th minute, looking for the equalizer, but the attempt was saved.
The Cardinals added insurance goals in the 73rd and 83rd minutes, to put the final tally at 3-nil.
The Eagles return to action Sunday, Oct. 15, in Oxford, Ohio in a Mid-American Conference cross-divisional contest against Miami University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
